Wells Fargo Donates to SEDCorp/EPIC
Supporting the Youth Financial Literacy Program
Auburn nonprofits Economic Partners in Change (EPIC) and the Sierra Economic Development Corporation (SEDCorp) are pleased to announce the generous donation of $37,500 that was made by Wells Fargo at an economic development challenge grant reception on July 12, 2012 at Max's Restaurant in Auburn. Natasha Mata, Northern California Regional President, presented the check to EPIC Secretary/Treasurer Patty Hall and SEDCorp Board Chair Mike Holmes.
EPIC will use a share of the grant funds to launch a Youth Financial Literacy course at Placer High School in Auburn starting in September. The funds will pay for two part-time college students to teach Placer students in the Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) program practical lesson from the adult financial world. The grant will also make it possible for SEDCorp to hold another of its intensive Business Boot Camps at the Wells Fargo training center in Sacramento this Fall. Wells Fargo would like to challenge the community to match its support for these and other worthy services being delivered by EPIC and SEDCorp.
